FAQ
-
What do I wear during a massage?
Most people undress to their comfort level. Some leave their underwear on, while others choose to remove it. No matter what you decide, you’ll always be properly covered with a sheet and blanket to ensure you feel comfortable and secure throughout your session.
-
Is it okay to talk during a massage?
Your therapist will follow your lead! While quiet relaxation is always welcome, if chatting helps you feel more at ease, your therapist is happy to engage and help create a relaxing, personalized experience.
-
Do I have to be completely undressed?
You’re welcome to leave on as much or as little clothing as you’re comfortable with. If you prefer to stay fully dressed, your therapist will adjust the session using techniques like compression, jostling, and stretching to ensure you still receive an effective and relaxing massage.
-
What do I do after a massage as far as aftercare?
After your session, your therapist will encourage you to rest, stay hydrated, and take it easy. To support proper healing and reduce any soreness, it’s best to avoid strenuous activity for at least 24 hours following your massage.
-
Will I be sore after a massage?
Some soreness is completely normal, especially after deeper tissue work, as your muscles adjust and release tension. If you receive a lighter, more relaxation-focused massage, such as a Swedish massage, you’ll likely experience little to no soreness afterward.
-
How often should I get a massage?
It depends on your goals. Anywhere from weekly, to biweekly, to monthly is common.
-
Can I work out after a massage?
Light activity after your massage is perfectly fine, but it’s best to hold off on any strenuous exercise for at least 24 hours. This allows your body time to recover and fully benefit from the session.
-
How long is a typical massage session?
Common durations for the industry are typically 30, 60, and 90 minutes.
